Chad M. Berry, Practice Manager
AHCA 171242311, ASPT, CMA
Education & Professional Background
While working as an inpatient phlebotomist at a busy 250-bed hospital in Central Florida, Chad was invited by a physician and mentor to join him as an associate in opening Highlands Clinical Laboratory, a private outpatient laboratory. While serving as Senior Project Manager over the 11 years that followed, Chad became instrumental in the growth and development of the lab, while remaining actively involved in recruitment and training of clinical staff. This company’s multiple contracts with skilled nursing/assisted living/memory care facilities during this period drew his attention to the recurring need for ultrasounds & cardiac imaging studies which, unfortunately, required transport to an outpatient center. This opportunity ultimately led him to leave his role at Highlands Clinical Laboratory and launch his own mobile & outpatient ultrasound/echocardiogram center in Highlands County, followed by one in Lee County. These clinics rapidly grew over the next 6 years in order to meet the increasing demand. Expansion of services into clinical trials ultimately fostered a relationship with a well-known pharmaceutical research company, who invited him join them as Research/PK Coordinator in Phase 1 pharmaceutical drug research, a role which he accepted and enjoyed greatly over the next 2 years while remaining actively involved in the imaging center’s growth.
His natural gift for Business Development soon drew the attention of a senior representative for a Medicare-certified & regulated Home Health Agency in Central Florida. He was invited to join the company to help with their advancement into Behavioral Health and Wellness Programs, while also seeking to expanded services to include a seamless transition of care model into Assisted Living/Memory Care communities. His engagement with psychiatric nurses and ongoing collaboration with clinical and administrative staff was instrumental in the development of the company’s Behavior Health and Wellness Program, and the program flourished.
It was during this period that Chad’s growing desire to educate the aging population on Medicare benefits available to them, while cautioning them on the misconstrued information relative to Medicare Advantage/Replacement Plans, emerged. This led him to begin giving seminars on the risks associated with these plans. These seminars gained popularity, and although controversial at times, were well-received, well-attended, and greatly valued by audiences.
In early 2019, Chad obtained his Administrative License through the Agency for Health Care Administration and became licensed to work as an Administrator for Assisted Living Communities in the State of Florida. It was during his newly accepted role as the Regional Marketing Director of a large home health agency in the Naples area that Chad and Dr. Bandeira connected. Like the other professionals before him, Dr. Bandeira saw the talent, skill, compassion and dedication that Chad possessed, and extended to him an invitation to join him as Practice Manager at Premier Medical Concierge (PMC), a unique Internal Medicine & Geriatric Medicine practice that Dr. Bandeira had opened on conclusion of his tenure as Medical Director of Geriatric Medicine at Naples Community Healthcare System. Excited by the opportunity to bring his skills and experience to the center of individualized, personal care, Chad graciously accepted the Doctor’s invitation. Since then, Chad and Dr. Bandeira have teamed up to develop and refine a business model specific to Medical Concierge that places the client/patient exactly where they belong: at the very center of the healthcare experience.
Chad maintains his Administrative License for the State of Florida and AHCA. He is a Certified Medical Assistant and carries additional accreditations by the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians. He remains actively involved in education, and in support of this Dr. Bandeira has dedicated an important piece of the PMC’s monthly newsletter to Chad’s literary pieces. As Medicare benefits frequently change, Chad remains current on these differences, so as to provide reliable information to PMC members and those who may be considering these different options.
